Oh the horror, my friends! Last night at 6:00 I found myself dining in
front of the television, as I am known to frequently do, and to my dismay found
myself tuned into MTV's Beevis and Butt-Head. This show, although sincerely
humorous at times, is not a show one can truely enjoy without a certain degree
of shame. Being a big fan is not something I would think you could really be
proud of. I sometimes watch, but am not a big fan.
Anyway, they sat in their usual couch positions, reviewing S&B's
Peek-A-Boo. Now I would appreciate more S&B play on MTV, but not particularly
in this venue.
Of course, they felt that it sucked. I think the approximate quote from
Butt-Head was "If you were in a room full of your friends and played this, they
would all leave." Beevis replied "People who like this have no friends".
And this is one of my favorite songs off of one of my favorite albums!
I guess I'll never be IN with Beevis or Butt-Head or any of those (probably
throngs) who follow their lead. Such a bummer! Will I survive?
Actually, it has been shown that any video (panned of praised) shown on
Beevis and Butt-Head jumps in sales. I guess this isn't a catastrophy, but I'd
hate for any of you not to be aware of the slight against us by MTV's favorite
toons.
