If you get an incompatible format, be on the lookout for stores which deal
in foreign video. There are shops which can do format conversion, something
much cheaper than buying a VCR outright.

Multistandard VCRs are getting less expensive as time goes on. I could
swear I saw one a few weeks ago in Toronto for about Can$600, which is about
a plugged nickel in American funds. :)
